Rites For Mrs. Millie Petra To Be Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Petra, age 82, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church in Morris. The Rev. Philip Nelson will officiate. Interment will be in the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery in Chokio.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today (Friday) at the Petersen Funeral Home.
Mrs. Petra passed away at the Stevens County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. She had been in failing health since July.
Millie H. Boe was born on March 23, 1884, at Artichoke, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elinus Boe. As a smal girl she moved with her parents to a farm in Stevens County. After her marriage to Lauris Larson in October of 1903, the couple resided on a farm until 1907, when they moved to Chokio and lived until Mr. Larson's death in 1927. Mrs. Larson moved to a farm near Alberta. In 1930 she was united in marriage to Edward Petra. The couple farmed in the Alberta area until 1947, when they retired and moved to Morris. Mr. Petra passed away in March of 1951.
Mrs. Petra is survived by six daughters, Ann (Mrs. Everett Weseman) of Herman, Ella Hovde of Propsski, MN, Selma (Mrs. Norval Gillies) of Silvis IL, Dorothea (Mrs. Raymond Sperr) of Donnelly, Gertrude (Mrs. Edward Hiebel) of Ranier, MN, Alcie (Mrs Ronald Chenoweth) of Minneapolis, 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; by three sisters, Mrs. Rachel Johnson of Brainerd, Ann (Mrs. Arthur Nelson) of Correll, and Thea (Mrs. Gill Erickson) of Minneapolis, and by three brothers, Olof and Rudolph Boe of Wadena, Ed Boe of Appleton.
She was preceded in death by two sons.
Mrs. Petra was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Morris.
