Death claimed a pioneer lady of Synnes township when Mrs. hansina Boe, well known and highly esteemed resident of that community for more than three score years passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.W. Nelson, on Friday, March 11. She had been in failing health for about a year.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock from the Olson Chapel in Morris and at two o'clock from the Artichoke Lutheran Church. Rev. William Peterson officiated at the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Artichoke cemetery. Pallbearers were sons and sons-in-law of the deceased.
Hansina Christina Weeding was born in Tromso, Norway on January 16, 1864. When she was seven years old the family came to the United States. They settled first in Swift County and there she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Elenius Boe in Swift County on December 5, 1884. In 1888 the couple moved to Synnes township in this county and that community continued to be her home ever since.
Six months ago, because of her failing health, she moved to the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Nelson to live.
Mrs. Boe is survived by four sons, Selmer of Fargo, N.D.; Olaf of Ambrose, N.D.; Rudolph of Alberta; and Edward of Correll; by four daughters, Millie (Mrs. Ed Petra) of Morris; Rachel (Mrs. Pete Johnson) of Brainerd; Anna (Mrs. A.W. Nelson) of Correll; and Mrs. Thea Stevens of Minneapolis; one foster daughter, Velma (Mrs. Cecil Robbs) of Litchfield. She is survived also by 29 grandchildren, by 42 great-grandchildren, and by six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and by one daughter.
Mrs. Boe was a member of the Artichoke Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Artichoke Ladies Aid.
All of the children were present at the funeral.
