"The death of Earl C. Chase of Whig Corners, a widely known Otsego county dairyman and implement dealer, occurred early Sunday morning at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital. His age was 69. Mr. Chase was born in the town of Middlefield on May 15, 1888, a son of James M. and Ella (Fowler) Chase. He was married to the former Miss Lulu Belle Wilson at Fly Creek on June 26, 1912. Mr. Chase was a founder and active in the business of the Cooperstown farm implement firm of Earl C. Chase and Sons. He had operated a milk route in Cooperstown for 24 years ... He is survived by his wife; three sons, Lewis E. Chase, Ernest W. Chase, and John D. Chase, all of Cooperstown; five grndchildren, Beverly, Mary, James, David, and Stephen Chase, all of Cooperstown; a brother, Lee J. Chase of Mohawk; a sister, Mrs. Loren D. Sperry of Cooperstown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins ... Burial was in Fly Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Chase and Parsons of Mohawk."
