Alice lived in Texas with her parents and siblings until a young missionary from Archer became impressed with her and courted her through letters after he returned home.

Marion and Alice were married in 1932 and made their home along the Snake River in Sunnydell. They created a wonderful home to raise their thirteen children. They were known for their wonderful raspberries, and other produce from their farm. There home was filled with storytelling, gospel teaching, hard work, fun and games. Marion was an artist and many of his paintings hang in prominent places in the community. Alice was also recognized for her gardening and homemaking skills. Visiting their home was always a pleasant experience.

When they had been married for 48 years, Alice and Marion were recognized at the Family Living Fair at Ricks College with a Distinguished Family Living Award for "leading exemplary lives and rearing an outstanding family."

They were always actively serving faithfully in the LDS Church and community. After sending all of their sons and their daughter Marie on church missions, they served themselves as an older couple. They served in Texas.
