Alma Henry Pedersen Jr. age 77, died October 12, 1996, at the Wasatch County Hospital in Heber City, Utah.

Born January 14, 1919, in Park City, Utah, to Alma H. and Jennie Wheeler Pedersen. Married Ethel Johnson on December 1, 1945; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He attended school in Park City and Salt Lake City. Graduated from Park City High School. Received diplomas for two different courses from a trade tech school. Veteran of World War II, serving four years active duty in the U.S. Army Air Force during the war and another three years in the Army Air Force Reserve after the war ended. Served overseas in Africa and Italy. Member of the V.F.W. since 1946.

Active member of the LDS Church having served as Sunday School first counselor, first counselor in two different Elders Quorum Presidencies, Seventies group leader, stake Seventies Presidency, and ward mission leader. While living in Park City and after moving to Midway in 1981, he served as second counselor in the High Priest group. Assistant ward clerk, ward clerk, secretary in High Priest group in Midway 1st Ward.

Worked in the mines in Park City for about 19 years. Spent the remainder of his working years in the construction trade building roads and pipeline work.

Survived by his wife, Ethel of Midway, Utah; son, Ed and wife Lora Pedersen of Vernal, Utah; daughter, Barbara and husband Russ Hogge of West Jordan, Utah; daughter, Patricia and husband Randy Wareham of Kearns, Utah; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Monroe Pedersen of Heber City and Clarence Pedersen of Silver Creek; sisters, Ruth Staker of Park City, Norma Cowin of Salt Lake City, Donna Alvey of West Valley, Carol Colovich of Midway, and Ethel Dudley of Heber City.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray and Rex; sisters, Betty, Lola and Ellen.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Midway 1st Ward. Friends may call on Tuesday at the Olpin Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery with Military Honors. Funeral directors, Olpin Mortuary, Heber City.
