Son of Elizabeth Adelaide Taylor Claiborne and John Alexander Claiborne. Note: during 1890, the Claiborne family suffered the deaths of two children - daughter Adelaide in January and Robert in August. An October diary notes that "Sister Addie and Lizzie (Mary Elizabeth Claiborne) are some better. Freddie (Fred Battle Claiborne) still very sick with Typhoid fever. Jack T.
