Fred is loved, missed and remembered
forever in the hearts of all who
loved him. Fred was born in
Michigan. His Family moved to
Iowa. Fred grew up in Iowa.
Many of His Family of Origin lived in
the Hawkeye Bethal Twp Fayette Co.
and Sumner Bremer Co. Iowa area.
His Parents had nine Children.
Fred married Emilie Steege in
Iowa. They moved to Wadena Co.MN
They raised their children in
Wadena Co. MN. Fred and Emilie
had a large farm. They eventually
sold their very large farm in
Aldrich MN and moved to Staples
MN. Fred had a Bar and Pool Hall
in Staples MN. Per his Grand Daughter,
Fred and Emilie had a large
garden at their Staples Home
about the size of a City Block.
More like a hobby farm garden. Their
house in Staples was once a farm house.
The Barn was still there, but the land
had been sold as the City grew. Fred
and Emilie loved Family events. Their
Grandchildren loved to come and visit
them. They are survived by many
Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren,
Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, many
other Relatives and Friends.

Carl came to America from Germany
in 1866. He moved to Battle Creek
Michigan and then to Bremen Ohio.
Carl married Friedericke Poppenhagen
March 29, 1871 in New Bremen Ohio.
They were school mates in Germany.
They had 9 children, 4 sons and 5
daughters. Two sons and two daughters
preceded him in death. His Spouse
Friedericke preceded him in death
by 3 months. Carl was survived
by Children Fred Rachow,
Joseph Rachow, Flora (Rachow) Boie,
Josephine (Rachow) Ladwig and
Frieda (Rachow) Grannemann when
he passed away. Carl was also
survived by 2 Brothers,
3 sisters and 7 Grandchildren.


Carl's Obituary included that he was born
the 5th Child of John and Sophia Rachow
Jan. 27, 1844 in Satow Mecklenburg
Schwerin Germany.

The excerpt translation didn't include
