MAPLE GROVE LOSES AN OLD AND HIGHLY RESPECTED RESIDENT
In the death of Casper Amman last Thursday Maple Grove loses one of its oldest and most highly respected residents Six weeks ago he fell and severely injured his leg and a gradual failing in his health was the result. He was born at Zwerzag Switzerland, on August 25, 1844, where he grew to manhood and where on August 14, 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Kunigunda Angst, the young couple coming immediately to America, settling at Shelby, Ohio, where they lived for some time, later moving to Sandusky. Forty-two years ago they moved to Maple Grove, when that part of the country was all woods and built their home, and have always lived there since, seven children were born to them, five whom survive, together with the widow. They are Wm., Mrs. Mary Alberts, Joseph, Mrs. Anna Wrocklage and Mrs. Rosa Gross, all of Maple Grove. The funeral was held on Monday morning from St. Michael's Catholic church in Maple Grove, where the deceased and been a staunch member all his life, Rev. Fr. Reussman officiating and burial was made in the cemetery there.
