Mrs. Bert Fischer, 70, of New London, died in Burlington hospital April 29 (1952), at 3:15 p.m. She had been hospitalized for 10 days.
Minnie Broeker, daughter of Frederick and Wilhelmina Vinzle Broeker, was born near Pleasant Grove on October 10, 1881, and was married to Bert A. Fischer at New London on January 11, 1905. For many years, the family lived on a farm near Yarmouth, moving to New London in 1937.
Mrs. Fischer was a member of the Baptist church and of the Royal Neighbors of America.
The husband survives, as do the following children: Mrs. Eva M. Carman, Denmark; Mrs. Jennie M. Mickelson, and Charles F. Fischer, both of Argyle; Mrs. Elsie H. Miller, New London, and Glen E. and Ruby M. Fischer, Mrs. Alice L. Lavine, and Mrs. Nellie M. Jackson, all of Burlington.
One daughter died in infancy.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and the following brothers and sisters: F. A. Broeker, Oakville; Mrs. Emma Hillen, Monmouth, Illinois; Louise Broeker, Mt. Vernon, Ohio; Mrs. Elsie Rhodes, of Florida, and Mrs. Anna Brenneke and Mrs. Hannah Redfern, both of Burlington.
Five brothers are dead.
Services will be held at the Elliott Chapel, in New London, at 2 p.m. Friday. The Reverend Eldon L. Seamans, pastor of the Presbyterian church of New London, will officiate, and burial will be in Trinity cemetery.
