A. J. Howell, 2325 NW 57, died Wednesday after a long illness at age 61. He was born in Lawton, Okla. and came to Okla. City in 1948.

He was a Geologist and Division Manager of Kelloil Inc, a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists, American Institute of Professional Geologists, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Okla. City Geological Society, Okla. City Exploration Managers, Director of Capitol Hill State Bank & Trust. He was a Deacon and member of Crestwood Baptist Church, and Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. He was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948.

He is survived by his wife Fernon Howell, 2 sons, Anthony J. Howell, and Kevin Howell, 2 daughters-in-law, Laura Beth Hart Howell and Rene' Payne Howell all of Okla. City. 3 brothers, Lois Howell of Clinton, Okla, Ray E. Howell, Hennessey Okla., Malcolm M. Howell of Covina, Calif. 3 sisters, Opal Adams of Colorado City Tx, Leota Adams of Colorado City Tx, Betty Collie of Okla. City.

Services will be Friday at 2 pm Crestwood Baptist Church, Entombment in Rosehill Mausoleum. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1312 NW 24, OKC.
