MIAMI, Okla. - Loretta V. Malone of Miami died Monday, Feb. 24, at the Miami Nursing Center. She was 76.

Malone was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Craig County to Tom and Esther (Harlin) McBrien. She lived in Welch until she moved to Miami in 1985.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church in Welch.

She was married to Herschel Malone. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Larry; a brother, George McBrien, and three sisters, Goldie Ballou, Mae Thompson and Lela Buckley.

Survivors include one son, Gerald Malone; one daughter, Caroline Johnson of Welch; three brothers, Gene McBrien, of Ohio, Ben McBrien of Miami and Ronnie McBrien of Tulsa; four sisters, Thelma Passmore of Broken Arrow, Dolly Digney of Bartlesville, Beverly O'Dell of Michigan and Georgia Glazebrook of Sedelia, Mo., and several grandchildren.

Services were held Friday at the Edna, Kan., cemetery with the Rev. Harold Neal officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.

Memorials are suggested to the Epilepsy Foundation of Oklahoma City.

She was a former Edna area resident.
