Born June 21, 1931, in Eglon, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Lester and Mildred Harsh Wilt. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Simpson; and one brother, Alden Wilt.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and the Lenox Homemakers. She was a bank teller, and retired from Wheeling National in 1993.
Surviving are her husband, William "Bill" Whetsell; three stepchildren, Randy Whetsell, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Mark Whetsell, Albright, and Sandra Thomas, Morgantown, W.Va.; one sister, Dorothy Spaid, Aurora, W.Va.; two brothers, Bernard Wilt, Grantsville, and David Wilt, Hinckley, Ohio; and seven step-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, and at the Centenary United Methodist Church, Bruceton Mills.
A service was held at the Centenary United Methodist Church on Monday, Oct. 3, with the Rev. Gary Reed officiating.
Burial was in the Centenary Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
