Bernard Eugene Wilt, 91, of Eglon, WV passed away February 17, 2017 at Pine Ridge in Kingwood, WV. He was born November 2, 1925 in Kempton, MD, a son of the late Lester and Mildred Charity Harsh Wilt; also preceding him in death were 2 brothers, Alden and David Wilt, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Spaid and Thelma Whetsell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by 2 sons, Eugene (Linda) Wilt, Rowlesburg, WV, Steve (Cheryl) Wilt, Eglon, WV, 4 daughters, Beverly (Randy) Whetstone, Petersburg, WV, Janice (Arthur) Forman, Amboy, WV, Cathy (Tom) Barr, St. George, WV, and Martha (Danny) Poling, Parsons, WV, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wilt was an entrepreneur business owner in charge of several businesses, who epitomized the meaning of hard work. He was a member of the American Legion Post 10077 of Oakland, MD and VFW Post 10077 of Deer Park, MD. The family would like to thank the staff at Pine Ridge for all of their care and support and the staff of Hinkle Funeral Home.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 19, from 2-6 PM at the Aurora Memorial Building. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 AM, Monday, February 20 at the Aurora United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Lantz officiating. Interment will follow in the Eglon Cemetery.
