Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Boone-Wells Funeral Home chapel in Greenville. Rev. Barry Landrum and Dr. Perry Claxton will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens here.

Mr. Causey was a native of Gloster where he received his early education. He moved to Greenville many years ago and was employed as bookkeeper and lumberman here. A member of First Baptist Church of Greenville, he served as a deacon and trustee of the church. Mr. Causey was active in civic affairs in the city and was a past president of the Lion's Club; a member of Greenville's City Council where he also served as vice mayor; and was a member of the Board of Supervisors of Washington County. The Causeys moved to Columbia after his retirement.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruby McCarley Causey of Columbia Heights; two sons, John D. Causey Jr., of Greenville, and Dr. W. W. Causey, pastor of Parkway Baptist Church in Jackson; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin P. Meadows Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Dr. W. M. Causey of Columbia; three sisters, Christine Causey of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Winborn Davis of Baton Rouge, La., and Mrs. Willis Lewis of Nashville, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the chapel fund of Columbia Heights Hospital and Nursing Home in Columbia.
