Dossie Earl Milner, 73, of Axtell, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will be at Axtell Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the funeral home.

Dossie was born in Axtell, Texas, to the late Dennie and Zelda (Kerley) Milner. He graduated from Axtell High School, served in the U.S. Navy, and worked for Leo Dennis Construction in the early 60's. He retired from Central Freight Lines after 37 years of service, was a member of S.P.J.S.T. and the Axtell Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Milner; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his daughters, Cheryl Moore, of Axtell, Melanie Scott, of Mexia and Cynthia Milner, of Lacy Lakeview; grandchildren, Amanda, Olivia, Eric, Regan, D.J. and Dawson; sister, Helon Holub, of Waco; brother, Dennie M. Milner, of California; and several nieces and nephews.
