Hedwig Irene Eller, known as Hedy or Hattie to most and as the Queen of Northport by some, died on Monday February 11, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born and raised in Brillion, WI the daughter of Henry and Hattie Albert. Her later years were spent in Door County. She had seven older brothers and sisters. On April 13, 1936 in Jacksonville, FL she married Ernst Eller who passed away in 1988. After living in many different states, they returned to Door County WI in 1963.

Throughout her life she enjoyed crafts, particularly painting, sewing, and gardening. Many in Northern Door County will remember her for her cooking skills and her work with the Ladies Sodality at St. Rosalia's Catholic Church. She will long be remembered for her love of fashion hats which she proudly wore to church each Sunday.

She is survived by her two children, Heinz Eller and Ingrid Barry, her son-in-law Tom Barry, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her many dedicated friends, among them Carol Lemon, the Spielmans, the Ossyras, the Auers and the Caseys, saw to it that her love of shopping, dining with friends, and looking good continued to the end. The song I DID IT MY WAY could have been written with her in mind.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday February 16, 2013 at 11:00 A. M. at Stella Maris Parish - Sister Bay Site with the Rev. David Ruby officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M until time of Mass on Saturday at the Church. There will be a time of fellowship and remembering in the Parish Hall following the service. She will be interred next to her husband Ernst at the Washington Island Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Hedy Eller Scholarship - Stella Maris Parish - P.O. Box 49 - Egg Harbor, WI 54209
