Stanley Merril Harper passed away on December 27, 2011 of causes incidental to age.

Born August 20, 1925 in Wattis, UT. Son of John Milton Harper and Fanny Harriet Fowler.

Preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Afton Burrows Harper. Survived by his five children, Dawn (Neal) Mumford, Craig (Jolene Dyet) Harper, Collett Klein, Colleen Barlow, Carrie Anne Harper, and honorary daughter, JoAnne Jackman. Also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

Stan was a member of the LDS Church and was known for his willingness to work hard, his attention to detail, and his expertise in solving complex problems.

Our dad and grandfather will always be remembered for his keen sense of humor, his arsenal of corny jokes, and his detailed storytelling abilities. His family will remember the many family vacations he planned as well as his great love for all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT.
