==========
Blanche Elizabeth Kellogg was born February 29, 1884 on the farm near Lakenan, Missouri. She was married in 1900 at the age of 16 to Fred Cochrane.
They lived one half mile from our home on the farm on Salt River. They were the parents of eight children and one who died at birth.
The eight living children were Alma Marie (m. Everette Magruder), Marthat Jospehine (Josie) (m. Myrl Snider), Andrew Clifford (m. Zella Wright), Mildred (m. Ross Metcalf), Mae (m. Delbert Snider), Gerald (m. Virginia Bodten), Glen and Bernice (m. Herschel Shively).
Alma, the oldest, is my age and it seemed all those eight kids were small at once. THey started with only two rooms and a large summer kitchen. Uncle Fred had lived there alone before they were married and they almost had all those eight children before they built another two rooms.
Aunt Blanche's house was always clean and neat. She certainly trained those kids well. And they, everyone, seemed proud of their home.
Aunt Blanche died in October 1959. She and uncle Fred had bought a nice little home in Shelbina and had lived there several years. Uncle Fred died a few months after Aunt Blanche and after their death, daughter Mildred Metcalf purchased their home.
