James Dunklin Pitts WARE SHOALS - James Dunklin Pitts, 79, died Monday at Spartanburg Convalescent Center. A native of Laurens County, a son of the late Cullen A. and Claudie Bolt Pitts, he was an employee of Riegel Textile Corp.
He was a member of Harmony Methodist Church, a Mason and a Shriner. Surviving are four sons, Herbert E. Pitts of Waterloo, Robert Thelton, Charles Irvin and Richard N. Pitts of Spartanburg; two daughters, Mrs. Vera P. Ashley of Ware Shoals and Mrs. Joyce P. Maccione of Atlanta, Ga.; six brothers, Lawrence, J.B., and Horace Pitts of Greenville, Alton Pitts of Ware Shoals and Wilbur Pitts of Goldsboro, N.C. and Leroy Pitts of Fork Shoals; one sister, Mrs. Grace Pitts Sullivan of Honea Path; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Parker-White Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Houston officiating. Burial will be in Rabun Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
