BIOGRAPHY

Edward was born January 5, 1897, in Diamond, Harney, Oregon to Homer Gifford and Sarah Sophia Hoopes. He was the second of eight children.

He married Edna May Vaughn on September 1, 1920, in Boise, Ada, Idaho. To this union, eight children were born. They lost one son, David Edward Gifford, shortly after birth.

The family lived in Cabarton, Kuna, and Sweet before finally settling in Montour, Gem, Idaho.

Edward died of a heart attack on October 14, 1946, while working for Hoss Lumber Company in Horseshoe Bend, Boise, Idaho. He is buried in the Emmett Cemetery in Emmett, Gem, Idaho.

Edward Warren Gifford, 49, of Montour died of a heart attack Monday, October 14. He was born May 5, 1897, in Diamond, Oregon, and came to Montour when six years of age. In March, 1920, he married Edna May Vaughn of Montour and they lived at Cabarton, Kuna and Sweet and later made their home in Montour.

Mr. Gifford suffered the attack while at work for the Hoss Lumber Company at Horse Shoe Bend.

Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Bucknum-Flahiff Chapel with the L.D.S. church in charge.
