Mary E. Dowell WAYNESBURG (Spl.) -

Services for Mary E. Dowell, 68, of Rt. 2 Waynesburg, who died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford, were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev, Victory J. Gehlhausen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

A Lincoln County native, she was the wife of Leonard G. Dowell. Her parents were the late Sarah Rector and Lewis Oaks. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

Additional survivors are five sons, Jimmy and Homer, both of Crawfordsville, Ind., William of Dayton, 0hio., Ted and Leonard . Jr., both of Darlington, Ind.; three daughters, Lucy Denson,-Rt. 1 Waynesburg, Vernice Britton and Elsie Moore, both of Rt. 2 Waynesburg; three brothers, Ezra Oaks of Crawfordsville, Ind., Luther Oaks of Dayton, 0. and Charlie Lee Oaks of Stanford, 55 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Barnett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
