Bessie was very proud of her heritage and eagerly shared her family information with any of her relatives that were interested, including her grandson Moses M Coleman, Jr. After the deaths of two of Bessie's daughters, Marion Warlick and Bergna Ison, Moses came into possession of hundreds of Bessie's letters, newspaper clippings and photographs. In 2012, after years of research, he completed his book "Granny Bess," which contains most of the family data collected and preserved by his Granny Bess.
