Funeral Rites Held For Elroy Crackel, Former County Resident
Funeral services were held Monday in Sebeka, Minn. for Elroy Crackel, a former Hand County resident, who died suddenly Tuesday night. Mr. Crackel had broken his arm that day in a fall on ice and died while on the operating table. Although he had been under treatment for diabetes for a number of years, he was quite well prior to the accident.
Mr. Crackel was born in Illinois in 1884, coming to Hand County with his parents when he was a boy. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Blaseg in 1913, and resided on a farm south of Ree Heights until 1936 when he moved with his family to Minnesota.
He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Mrs. Gaylord Olson, Evelyn, Sebeka; Miss Katheryn Crackel, Sebeka; Mrs. Leslie Synstad, Eleanor, Milaca; Mrs. Earl Hutchinson, Christine, Bemidji.
Five sons, Herbert, Sebeka; Warren, Lancaster; Wilbur, Linn and Leroy, Sebeka; one sister, Mrs. Joe Blaseg, Ree Heights and two brothers, Joe, Ree Heights and Dave of Ottowa, Ill. and six grandchildren.
