Kathryn Ethel Mantyla, 64, rural, MN died Monday, Jan. 23, 1984 at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo, ND.
She was born June 14, 1919 in Hand County to Elroy and Anna Crackel, Ree heights. She attended country school in Cedar Township, Hand County through the eighth grade and attended high school in Ree Heights. She then moved to rural Sebeka with her parents in 1936.
She attended beauty school in Minneapolis and had owned and operated a beauty shop in Sebeka until her marriage to Fred Mantyla April 27, 1957. They have resided on their farm north of Sebeka since their marriage. She was a member of the Sebeka Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, and one son, John, both of Sebeka; her mother, Anna Crackel, La Porte, MN; three sisters, Evelyn Borstner, Park Rapids, MN, Eleanore Synstad and Christine Hutchinson, La Porte; five brothers, Herbert Crackel, Sebeka, Warren Crackel, Willmar, MN, Wilbur Crackel, Silver Bay, MN, Lynn Crackel, Brainerd, MN and Leroy Crackel, Guthrie, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 1:30 at the Cardini-Behrens Funeral Home in Sebeka. The Rev. Elmer Huchel officiated.
Pallbearers were Herbert Crackel, Warren Crackel, Wilbur Crackel, Lynn Crackel, Leroy Crackel and Earl Hutchinson.
Interment will be in the Mantyla Cemetery.
