Don D. Brown, 79 of Huntington passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Don was a Brakeman for the railroad for many years. He worked for the Erie – Lackawanna until 1976, then for Conrail from 1976 to 1979. He owned the Bakers Dozen bakery in Huntington from 1985 to 1993. He also worked for Eagle Pitcher from 1985 until his retirement in 1994. He was a 1950 graduate of Jefferson Twp. High school. He served in the U.S. Army during the early 1950's and was a member of the Northview Church of Christ.

He was born on July 15, 1932 in Huntington County as son of Sherman N. and Lelah J. Camblin Brown.

He was united in marriage to Sharon J. Cone on August 12, 1956 in Warren, IN. She preceded him in death on January 9, 1993.

Additional survivors include 2 sons: Randy H. (Michelle) Brown and Michael L. (Teresa) Brown both of Huntington. 3 brothers: Dale Brown and Von Brown both of Warren and Keith Brown of Huntington. A sister: Betty Brown of Muncie and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Ernest and Floyd Brown and 2 sisters: Martha Eppard and Mildred Wall.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
