Farmer and employe of the Co-op Dairy in Fort Wayne, Ernest E. Brown, 41, of Rt. 2 Warren, ended his life at 2 p.m. Thursday with a gun shot wound in the chest at his home near Warren. He was reported to have been despondent and had made earlier threats to take his life and that of his family. Officers had been to the home as late as Wednesday night when he was found to have left in his car. He reportedly returned Thursday afternoon and ended his life in the absence of his family. Dr. J. B. Bennett of Warren investigated in the absence of County Coroner Dr. S. E. Cope.

Mr. Brown was born October 24, 1922 in Jefferson Township to Sherman N. and Lelah Camblin Brown. His marriage was to Charlotte Cree on April 1, 1945, at Warren. He had lived all his life in Huntington County.

Surviving are the widow, three sons, James E., Jerry J. and John E., and a daughter, Barbara Ann, all at home; the parents of Rt. 1 Warren; three sisters, Mrs. Eldon (Mildred) Wall, Rt. 1 Warren; Mrs. Loy (Martha) Eppard, Rt. 3 Warren, and Miss Betty Jean Brown of Muncie, and five brothers, Floyd Brown, Rt. 1 Warren; Dale Brown, Warren; Don Brown, Rt 6 Huntington; Von Brown, Rt 7 Huntington, and Keith Brown, Rt 1 Andrews.

Mr. Brown was a member of the Church of Christ at Markle.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, Warren, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Van Buren.
