Floyd was born in Huntington County, the son of Sherman N. and Lelah (Camblin) Brown. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1937. Floyd then became a Staff Sergeant in the Army during World War II. On February 22, 1948, he married Waneta M. Kennedy. Floyd was a lifetime farmer in Jefferson Township and retired from Dana after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years – Waneta M. (Kennedy) Brown of Warren; two sons – Steven (Jayne) Brown of Cortland, Ohio and Terrill (Teresa) Brown of Pierceton, Indiana; one daughter – Karen Brown of Roanoke, Indiana; four brothers – Dale Brown of Warren, Von Brown of Warren, Don Brown of Huntington and Keith Brown of Huntington; one sister – Betty Brown of Muncie, Indiana; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter – Pamela Keister; a brother – Ernest Brown; and sisters – Mildred Wall and Martha Eppard.
