Walter was the 10th child of Daniel Pearce and Ann (Nancy)Ankers.
He married Perlina Davis Jan. 1, 1818 in Ohio. Together they had seven children, Deborah, Ezra, Daniel, Esther, Sarah, Louisa and George W.. Perlina passed away in 1843. Walter remarried Mrs Josinah(CATTERLIN)Kimball, Dec. 27, 1854 and with her had two sons, James and Douglas.
Walter was one of the Pearce brothers that came from Ohio in 1832 and settled his family just outside of Oswego. His 5 youngest children were born in Oswego.
Walter was born in Hampshire County,VA., at the time of his birth Hampshire was still part of Virginia; in June of 1862 Virginia broke into two separate states with Hampshire County going with the new state of West Virginia.
