Obituary:
Claxton - Sam Jones, 102, passed away January 8, 2006 at his sons home in Waycross, GA, where he had resided for the past five years. The Bulloch County native had resided in Evans County most of his life. He was of Baptist Faith and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Bruner Jones.
Survivors: one son and daughter-in-law, James Edwin and Betty M. Jones of Waycross; four grandchildren, James Dennis Jones of Claxton, Jamie J. Shell and Michael E. Jones both of Waycross, and Stephen D. Jones of Statesboro; 11 great -grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 10, 6:00 p.m., until at J. Mellie Nesmith Funeral Home.
Funeral: Wednesday, January 11, 11:00 a.m., at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.

Samuel Gordon Jones, son of Martin Eastwood Jones and Ella J. Ennis, married Inez Bruner (1910 - 1987), daughter of Lawton William Bruner (1884 - 1955) and Etherine Baker (1888 - 1970).
Samuel Gordon Jones and Inez Bruner Jones have one child, a son, James Edwin Jones.
