Ella J. Ennis was born 03 FEB 1874, in Bryan County, died 30 SEP 1942, daughter of Zachariah Taylor Ennis and Margaret Elizabeth Clanton, born Circa. Jun 1850, Bryan County, Georgia, died 15 Jun 1934, Bryan County, Georgia, (both parents interred in Little Creek Cemetery, on Fort Stewart, Bryan County, Georgia). Ella married 1st Thomas Durrence, Sr. and they divorced, leaving her with two minor children, listed below in birth order:

1. A son, Thomas 'Tom' H. Durrence, Jr., b. 07 SEP 1896, d. 02 SEP 1972, at age 75. He married Dicey Lee (1915-1999) and had two children, both daughters:

a. Carolyn Virginia Durrence (1936-2017), interred in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery, Brunswick, Glynn County, Georgia.

b. Louise Durrence (still searching for her final resting place and birth & death dates..

2. A daughter, Lula Estelle Durrence, b. 1899, d. 13 MAR 1959. She married Israel "Club" Goldberg (died 1967). She and Uncle "Club" had two children, both daughters:

a. Rosalie Goldberg. Married Allan Cotler, a veteran of many bomber missions in the Pacific Theatre of World War II, and holder of many medals for his deeds (clearly a Hero in the opinion of this writer). Rosalie is interred in the Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.

b. Mildred Goldberg. Married Daniel De La Pena (there are many variations in the spelling of her husband's family name. Still checking for further information on Mildred and her husband.

Ella Married 2nd, and last, a widower, CSA veteran and farmer, Martin Eastwood Jones (1844 - 1925). Martin owned and lived on his farm in Bulloch County, Georgia and Ella and her two small children moved there and raised her son, Thomas "Tom," and daughter, Lula, there as she and her 2nd husband added more children to their family. Her 2nd husband was the son of William M. Jones (1813 - 1877) and Nancy Hendricks (1820 - 1907). Both of her 2nd husband's parents are interred in the THOMAS NEVIL CEMETERY (a privately owned cemetery), Bulloch County, Georgia and their graves are marked by a prominent marble headstone mounted on a marble base.

Martin and Ella had four children together, two of their children died in infancy, and two lived to maturity and had long lives. Their last child, a daughter, Ethel Marguerite Jones (1908-1997) is the mother of this writer and his six (6) siblings. The names of the four children born to Ella and Martin Eastwood Jones are listed below in birth order:

1. Randford Jones, b. 18 DEC 1901, d. 07 JAN 1902 (died as an infant - interred Ephesus Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.
2. SAMUEL GORDON JONES, b. 13 APR 1903, d. 08 JAN 2006 - married Inez Bruner, Samuel lived to the age of 102 years - Both are interred in Ephesus Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.
3. Ollie J. Jones, b. 19 AUG 1906, d. 07 JUN 1907. (died as an infant - interred Ephesus Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.
4. ETHEL MARGUERITE JONES, b. 01 NOV 1908, d. 18 MAR 1997 - (Married Alfred Jackson ‘A. J.” Bowen, Jr.) - Both are interred in Ephesus Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia. Together, they had seven children, 6 sons and 1 daughter.
