THOMAS HERSCHEL DURRENCE, JR. born 07 SEP 1896, died 02 SEP 1972, is the son of Thomas Herschel Durrence, Sr. (no further information is known about his father at the time of this writing) and Ella J. Ennis, born 03 FEB 1874, died 30 SEP 1942, daughter of Zachariah Taylor Ennis (1849 - 1923) and Margaret Elizabeth Clanton (b. ?, d. ?).
His mother, Ella J. Ennis, married 1st Thomas Herschel Durrence, Sr. and was widowed with two minor children. The two children were, Thomas Herschel Durrence, Jr. (1896-1972) and Lula Estelle Durrence (1899 - 1959). Thomas & Lula's mother, Ella J. Ennis, married 2nd, a widower, farmer and CSA Veteran, Martin Eastwood Jones (1844 - 1925), who was 29 years senior to her in age. Ella J. Ennis, and Martin Eastwood Jones had four children together, Listed below, in birth order:

J.” Bowen, Jr.) - Both are interred in Ephesus Church Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.
Thomas Herschel Durrence, Jr. lived in Evans County, Georgia and his half-sister, Ethel Marguerite Jones, and his half-brother, Samuel Gordon Jones, also lived nearby in Evans County while his full sibling Lula Estelle Durrence (married Israel "Club" Goldberg) lived in Savannah, Georgia and raised four daughters there. It is known that Thomas had two (2) daughters, Carolyn, born circa 1935, and Louise, birth date unknown at this time, His daughter, Carolyn married Kennedy and lived most all her married life in or near Brunswick, Georgia.
