BOUNTIFUL - John Thomas Eggett, Sr., 78, Bountiful died January 27, 1977, in a Salt Lake hospital following a lingering illness.

Born October 4, 1898, West Bountiful, Utah to John and Mary Elizabeth Shill Eggett. Married Henrietta B. Cooper, September 20, 1922, later divorced. Married Edna Pearl Lynch, January 7, 1933, later divorced. Married Nina Marie Parry Platt, August 28, 1959, Salt Lake City. Lifelong resident of Bountiful. Active member LDS Church, High Priest in Bountiful 25th Ward. Retired Union Pacific Railroad. Former employee of Cudahy Packing Co. Member Friendly Club. Very generous farmer.

Survivors, wife; sons, daughters, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Rogers, Nadeen Parl Tueller, both Salt Lake City, Mrs. Merlin (Diane) Johnson, North Salt Lake; Mrs. Carl (Maxine) Carson; John Thomas, Jr., Larry Lynch, Roger Kay, Rodney Jay, all Bountiful, thirty-two grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; step-children, James William Platt, Riverton; Mrs. James (Carol) Birrell; Norman G. Platt, both Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Max (Gayle) Osborn, Sandy; Mrs. William (Norma) Cummins, Scottsdale, Arizona; Lynette Platt, Bountiful, twenty-one step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandcildren; brothers and sisters, Joseph LeRoy, Mary Anderson; Lloyd, all Bountiful; Mrs. Clarence (Thelma) Lail, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ralph (Lillie) Curtis, Bell, California; Alvin, West Bountiful.

Funeral services Monday, 12 noon, Bountiful 25th Ward, 1500 South 6th East. Friends may call Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Sunday, 6-8 pm, and Monday, at the chapel one hour prior to services. Interment, Bountiful Memorial Park.
