The following is a short historical biography of Frederich Edward Boger son of Doretta Louise Boger, written by his son Frederich Edward Boger.

Frederick Edward Boger was born in Leipzig on the Rine, Germany. His wife Katherine Mary Toomey came from Tipperary, Ireland. They met in Dillon, Montana. They were married on 1 September 1900. To this marriage 5 children were born. Three sons Frederich Edward ( Wilma Edith McIntosh), Waldron William ( Louise Davidson) and a infant son who died in 1910, two daughters Marie Dorette (Clarence Holter)and Anastia M. (Orrin Babb).

When Frederich asked her to marry him she said "You have to have a cage for the bird, or it might fly away". He built the house at 327 North Washington street. Eventually he owned a whole block. Another big house and cabins he rented to miners. He worked as a bartender and sheep shearer and sheared sheep all over Idaho and Montana.


F.E. Boger, Long Time Dillon Resident, Passes
Frd E. Boger, 75, a resident of Dillon for the past 55 years, died at Murry hospital in Butte at 1:30 this afternoon. Mr. Boger was sricken Saturday of last week and was rushed to the hospital. He underwent an emergency operation and for a long time appeared better. He failed to rally, however, and succumbed this afternoon.
The deceased was born in Germany June 8, 1868, but came to this country when still a youth. He settled in this vicinity about 55 years ago and has been a resident here since that time. For many years he gained a reputation as an expert ranch hand and sheepshearer. He retired about 30 years ago.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Catherine Boger, a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holter of Creed, Colo; Mr. and Mrs. Orin Babb, a daughter and son-in-law of Mapleton, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Edward Boger of Idaho, and another son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Waldron Boger of Dillon. There are four grandchildren also surviving.
The body will be brought to the Brundage funeral home in Dillon where funeral arrangements are awaiting word from the out-of-town survivors.


FINAL RITES FOR FRED E. BOGER ARE HELD TODAY 14 June 1943
Rites for Fred E. Boger, Dillon resident for the past 55 years, were held this afternoon from the Brundage chapel. Mr. Boger, a well known figure in this vicinity, passed away Thursday afternoon at a Butte hospital. He was taken there June 5 and underwent an emergency operation. He appeared better for a time, but failed to rally and succumbed.
The Rev. Father F.X. Lechner officiated at the services and burial was in Mountain View cemetery.
