PORTAGE- The Funeral of Mrs. Joseph Shetzer, Mary Jane Luce, 84, who died Tuesday at 7:10 a.m. in her home, one-half mile east of Portage, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Anderson Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
The Rev. Peter Strayer, of Maumee, will officiate. Burial will be at Swan Creek Cemetery, four miles east of Maumee on U.S. Tt. 20-A. She had been ailing for a number of years. Friends may call at Anderson's this evening.
She and her husband, 93, who survives, have been caretakers of the camp grounds of the Union Holiness Association, one-half mile east of Portage, for 53 years.
Mrs. Shetzer was born in Monclova, near Toledo, April 11, 1870, the daughter of Abraham and Aseanth Luce. She was married Nov. 7, 1890 at Business Corners about 4 and one-half miles west of Maumee.
Surviving with Mr. Shetzer are sons, Lawrence and Clarence, of Bowling Green; Ralph, of Clyde; and Floyd, of Fremont; daughter, Mrs. Eva May Reid, of Bowling Green; 29 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Maude Rood, of Portage, and Mrs. Cora Burton, of Wayne; and brother, Walter Luce, of Toledo. A daughter, Ethel, died in infancy 63 years ago, the only death in the immediate family until now.
