Mary Helen received her elementary education at Carter G. Woodson in Tullahassee, Oklahoma. At the age of 56, Mary went back to school and received her high school diploma in June of 1981. She continued her education at Dawson Nursing School and finished in June 1993 as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Mary Helen Griffin gave her heart to God September 1, 1956, at Shiloh SDA Church, under Pastor J. E. Cleveland. She has kept her faith and been a dedicated missionary for the army of the Lord.
Mary Helen and Ozell Griffin were united in Holy Matrimony, October 15, 1964. To this union three children were reared. Mary Helen Griffin was called to rest her weary soul on August 7, 1999.
Her loving husband of many years preceded her in death on August 3, 1990.
She leaves to mourn and rejoice in her memory, three childrn - Nathan Griffin and Fiance Pamela Cunningham and Yvonne Griffin, and LaTonya and Loren Copser.
She leaves nine grandchildren - Deontae, Quantae, D'Aundre, Derrick, Anasheon, Loren Jay, Jr., and Brian Boomer Dominique. Three brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, church families and friends.
