Death is just a natural thing, like the closing of a door, as we start upon a journey to a new and distant shore. So let your grief be softened and yield not to despair, she has been placed in the loving Father's care. Life on earth is a transient affair, just a few brief years in which to prepare for a life that is free from pain and tears, where time is not counted in hours or years.

For death is only the method God chose to colonize Heaven with the souls of those who by their apprentice on earth proved worthy to dwell in the land of new birth. So, death is not said...it is a time for elation, a joyous transition...the soul's emigration to a place where the soul is safe and free to live with God through eternity.

Loretta Wallace Leathers was born to Robert and Savannah Wallace, November 19, 1908 in the town of Tullahassee, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of nine children. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Loretta was united in marriage to Curtis Leathers in 1927. To this union fifteen children were born. Her husband and eight children preceded her in death.

Upon moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1959, and having accepted Christ as an early age, Loretta united with the Church of the Living God, Temple #3, under the leadership of Bishop Thomas Smith. She remained a member until her death December 23, 1992.

Loretta leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Curtis Leathers, Jr. and Curl Leathers - Bakersfield, California and Leon Leahters - Tulsa, Oklahoma; four daughters, Mary H. Griffin, Beaulah Mae Childs, Joyce Ann Herring and Elaine Sloan - Tulsa; two brothers, Robert Wallace and Pastor Amos Wallace - Tulsa; two sisters, Alberta Howell and Catherine Thomas - Tulsa; forty-seven grandchildren and fifty-one great grandchildren, three daughters-in-law, three sons-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
