Mrs. John (Gertrude) Bruning, 95, of S Sixth St., Rogers City, died at Pineview Nursing Home in Hillman on Sunday, June 14 following a brief illness. Gerturde Bredow was born in Rogers City on June 11, 1892 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She and William Hagen were married Spetember 9, 1915. He preceded her in death in 1933. She married John Bruning May 1, 1937. He passed away in 1954. Mrs. Bruning was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Lutheran's Women's Missionary League. She also belonged to the Rogers City hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by three daugherts, Mrs. John (Irene) Florip and Mrs. Kenneth (Melva) Bruning both of Rogers City and Mrs. Clarence (Elna) Mulka of Warren; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death in addition to her husbands were a son Edward, three sisters and two brothers. Rev. Samuel Sherouse officiated at the funeral service held Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church and interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family has asked that memorial donations be made to St. John Lutheran church memorial Fund.
