MRS. AUGUST BREDOW TAKEN BY DEATH
Pioneer of Rogers Twp. passed away early Sunday evening.
The death of Mrs. August Bredow aged severy-eight years, occurred Sunday evening at nine thirty o'clock, after a brief illness of heart trouble. Her death occured at her home at 276 Friedrich Street, Rogers City.
Mrs. Bredow is a pioneer resident of Rogers Township having lived in Rogers Township for the past fifty-eight years. She was born in Germany and at the age of thirteen years came to the United States with her parents, going to Middleport, N.Y. and they then came to Rogers Township.
Besides her husband six children survive, four daughters, Mrs. Frnak Pretty of Rogers City, Mrs. William Reisner of Hagensville, Mrs. William Hagen of Rogers City and Mrs. William Steele of Alpena and two sons, Gustave Bredow and George Bredow, both of Rogers City. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Fairbanks and Mrs. Tina Winters and three brothers, Gustave Winters, Henry Winters and Charles Winters all of Middleport, N.Y., survive and twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence and at two thirty o'clock from the Section 12 Lutheran Church. Rev. E. Kuehn officiated at the services and interment was made in the Section 12 Cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers at the funeral were the grandsons of Mrs. Bredow, William Erkfitz, August Erkfitz, William Steele Jr., Otto Maerz, Harry Kortman, and Alfred Demerest. Flower girls were Elna and Irene Hagen, Grace Steele, Hattie Bredow, Ila Bredow and Laura Reisner.
