MONTPELIER--William R. Midtgard Sr., 56, of rte. 3, Montpelier, died Sunday in his home.
A former employee of White Motors in Montpelier, he was born in Michigan Jan. 4, 1916, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herluf Midtgard. His father and stepmother survive in Bradenton, Fla.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was formerly a mayor of Camden and owner of IGA store there.
He is survived by a daughter Karen Richards of Swanton, Ohio; a son, William Jr. of Swanton, Ohio; a sister, Rosemary Peerboom of Camden; four brothers, Edward of Jonesville, Milton of Montgomery, Charles of Lansing and Fred of Camden and two grandchildren.
The funeral service is pending in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
