ARLINGTON - Fenton Drake Dolson, a retired toolmaker and a host for La Madeleine Restaurant, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002.
Fenton, also known as "Shorty," was born in West Union, Ill., on Oct 22, 1923 to Rush and Bertha Dolson. He graduated from Hutsonville High School in 1941. He married Naoma Thompson in 1948. He worked as a fireman for the Pennsylvania Railroad, was a part-time farmer, and a molder for Terre Haute Malleable & Mfg.
After retiring, he became a host for La Madeleine Restaurant.
Fenton was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Naoma; brother, Gene; and two sons, Stanley and James Gary.
Survivors: Daughter, Trudy Coker and son-in-law, Arthur of Midlothian; son, Kelly Dolson of Reno; son, Kenneth Dolson and daughter-in-law Peggy of Hico; daughter, Loretta Dollar and son-in-law, Gilbert of Arlington; sister, Esther Dolson of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Eileen Wright, Brian Coker, Janny Dolson, R. D. Dolson, Gilbert Dollar and Joseph Fenton Dollar; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Wright.
Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at Lamar Baptist Church where he was a member.
