Rogersville - Franklin Barton, 53, died at the Holston Valley Community Hospital in Kingsport Wednesday at 11pm of injuries received when he was struck by a car on the Knoxville Highway Tuesday about 10:30 a.m. as he alighted from a bus near his home at Stoney Point in Hawkins County.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Fudges Chapel with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his widow; four sons, William (Peanut), Glen (Spurlock), Robert(Pus), and Clyde (Wesley); and three daughters, Mrs. Grace Ella Bruner and Misses Arlene Barton (Ford) and Juanita Barton (Cooper), all of Surgoinsville; his father, John Barton of Surgoinsville; three brothers, Tom and George Barton of Rogersville and Joe Barton of Surgoinsville.
