Juanita Jannette Cooper, 70

SURGOINSVILLE - Juanita Jannette Cooper, 70, of 306 Church Street, passed away Thursday (December 7, 2006) after a long battle with Non Hodgkins Lymphona and lung disease.

She was a life long resident of Hawkins County and was a member of Amis Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of the Hawkins County School System. She loved the color of red and enjoyed her collection of Strawberry items.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bessie Ward Barton, brothers, William "Peanut" Barton, Glen "Spur" Barton, Robert "Pus" Barton, Clyde Wesley Barton and 4 infant brothers, two sisters, Arlean Ford and Grace Bruner.

She is survived by her husband, Hanes Cooper, Surgoinsville; one daughter, Robin Cooper Hoffman, Surgoinsville; one granddaughter, Taylor Alexis Hoffman; several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to all her doctors, nurses and friends and family who provided special care during her illness.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alvin Skelton and the Rev. Mike Cutshaw officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Cradic, Don Thurman, Clifford Ball, Sam Johnson, Terry VanCleave, Hugh Dean Ratledge, Robert Cooper and Greg Bradley.

Honorary bearers will be Fayne Cooper and Roy Cooper.
