Robert (Pus-R) Barton, Sr.
Robert (Pus-R) Barton, Sr., 70, 310 North Old Union Road, Church Hill, died Tuesday (Nov. 30, 1993) at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Barton was preceded in dath by his parents, Frank and Bessie Ward; a sister, Arlean Barton Ford; brothers, William C. (Peanut) Barton, Glen (Spurlock) Barton, and four infant brothers.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lena Vaughn Barton, Church Hill; two daughters, Mrs. James (Patsy) Sturgill, Church Hill and Mrs. John (Imogene) Arrowood, Greenville; five sons, Robert Barton Jr., Surgoinsville, Ronald Barton, Jimmy Dean Barton, Billy Barton and Michael Barton, all of Church Hill; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Grace) Bruner and Mrs. Haynes (Juanita) Cooper, both of Surgoinsville; one brother, Clyde (Wesley) Barton, Surgoinsville; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alvin Skelton and the Rev. Frank Lynch officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church Hill Memory Gardens.
