Anna, born in Ostfriesland, was a daughter of Thomas and Mattie (née Gastmann) Tammen. She emigrated from Germany in 1873 with her father Tamme (aka Thomas) and her sister, Ileste.

She was the wife of George H. Ioerger. They were the parents of seven known children.

Death Claims Minonk Woman

Mrs. Anna Ioerger To Be Buried Friday Afternoon - Rites At St. Paul's

Mrs. Anna Ioerger, aged 77, resident of Woodford county ail her life, was claimed in her home in Minonk at 4:40 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, her death being quite sudden. Although she had been ill for nine weeks, she was able to look after her immediate wants. Yesterday, while seated in an easy chair, conversing with members of her family, she suddenly slumped forward, and when reached by Mr. Ioerger, Jr., had breathed her last.

She was born, August 22, 1855, and fifty years ago, was united in marriage with George Ioerger, who preceded her in death thirty years ago. Four children were born to the couple, one of whom, Ralph died while in defense of his country in France, during the World War. His body was brought back to America and is interred in the Minonk Cemetery.

The children left are George Jr., with whom the deceased made her home, Wilbur, who resides on the home place, and Mrs. Garland [sic] Kleen who resides at Woodford.

Funeral services will be held from the home of the son, George Jr., at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon and from the St. Paul church at two.

Burial will take place in the Minonk Cemetery beside the husband and son. Rev. Buchmiller will officiate.

Survived by two sons, George and Wilber; one daughter, Mrs. Garmer Kleen; two sisters, Mrs. Ileste Ioerger of El Paso (Ileste's husband Fred Ioerger was a brother of Anna Tammen Ioerger's husband, George Ioerger) and Mrs. Kate Joerger, of Pekin, Illinois (Kate's husband William Joerger was a cousin). She was predeceased by her son, Ralph J. Ioerger, who died in France during WWI.

Those from El Paso, Illinois who attended Anna's funeral were: Mrs. Ileste Ioerger, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ioerger, Mrs. Gertrude Miller, Mrs. Clara Banta and Miss Ariel Mammen. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ioerger from Farmersville, also attended her funeral.
