Wilbur Ioerger, 74, died in St. James Hospital, Pontiac, at 3:15 p.m. Saturday. He was a patient one day. He had been in failing health for several months.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Edwin F. Riske will officiate. Burial will be in Minonk Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Monday at the Wilcox-Folkers Memorial Home and at noon Tuesday in the church.

He was born Aug. 4, 1892, in Panola Township, south of Minonk, son of George and Anna Tammen Ioerger. He married Minnie Sakes Nov. 25, 1915, in Benson. She died in November, 1963. They lived in the Minonk area except for eight years in Pontiac.

Surviving are a son, Virgil, Minonk, and a daughter, Mrs. Doris Ann Skaggs, Minonk; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three daughters, one son, four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Ioerger was active in softball from 1928 to 1945 and was one of the top pitchers in Central Illinois. In 1933, he pitched for El Paso which won the Central Illinois-Pantagraph tournament. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
