HERTFORD - Elizabeth Hunter Roberson, 80, of 1992 Center Hill Highway, died Thursday evening, November 13, 2008, in Chowan Hospital. A lifelong resident of Perquimans County, she was the daughter of the late Abbott Shepard and Lillie Mae Harrell Hunter. She was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church and a former Home Demonstration Club member. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, E. Wilbur Roberson; a daughter, Becky R. Kretzer and husband Ralph of Seminole, Fla.; two sons and their wives, Edgar and Gail Roberson and Kelvin and Rhonda Roberson, all of Hertford; two sisters, Marie Leary of Hertford and Lillie Ambrose of Elizabeth City; three brothers, A. Marvin Hunter, Ray Hunter and W.G. "Pete" Hunter, all of Hertford; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Hunter and Jimmy Hunter. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Swindell Funeral and Cremation Services. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Cedar Wood Cemetery with the Rev. George Wilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Wood Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Great Hope Baptist Church, 505 Great Hope Church Road, Hertford, NC 27944.
