Johanna [Heusinger] Weidener was the second of seven daughters of Christian Andreas Heusinger and Katherina Barbara [Krauss] Heusinger. She was born in Coburg, Germany in 1826. Immigrated to the U.S. upon the death of her husband, Bancroft Weidener, and joined her sister Franszeska Prass in Ohio, where she ran a Notions Shop at the corner of Wayne & Quitman in Dayton. Oldest son Phillip Weidener (1851-1920) stayed behind in Germany and was adopted by his Grandfather Christian Heusinger in order to succeed him as Councilor to the Duke of Coberg. Her other son John Weidener (1859-1928) also remained in Germany. She is buried in a single grave at Woodland Cemetery.
