She was born in Coburg, Germany in 1825. She was the first of the Heusinger sisters to immigrate to the U.S. In 1851, she married John Nicholas Prass in New York City, and their first child, John was born there.
In the spring of 1853, John Nicholas and Friederike moved to Dayton, Ohio. Soon after, baby John died. By 1857, John Nicholas and Friederike had moved to Lafayette, Indiana, where John Nicholas and his brother John Paul eventually started Prass Brothers Liquors, a wholesaler, on the corner of Second and Main Streets.
There were eight children born to John Nicholas And Friederike....John (1852, died infant 1853), Anna Friederike [Prass] Burkhart (1853-1882), Paul Prass (1856-1884), Andrew P. Prass (1858-1939), Theodore Prass (1862-1943), Otto Alexander Prass (1863-1913), Robert Prass (1866-1943), and Emil Prass (1871-1872).
Friederike died in 1880 in Lafayette and is buried in Spring Vale Cemetery.
