Katherina Elisabethe [Heusinger] Prass, the fourth of seven daughters of Christian Andreas Heusinger and Katherina Barbara [Krauss] Heusinger, was born in Coburg, Germany in the area of what was then the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Katherina and four of her sisters immigrated to New York City, where she married John Paul Prass in 1852. The couple, along with other Prass family members, moved on to Dayton, Ohio, and then went to Lafayette, Indiana by 1857.
Katherina died suddenly while at Christmas Day Dinner 1883, while at her home in Lafayette.
