M. J. Seyller Dies Following Brief Illness

Burlington-Michael Joseph Seyller, 62, of Elgin died Monday afternoon, July 8, in St. Joseph's Hospital in that city, following a brief illness.

He was born November 22, 1896, in Burlington, and had resided in Elgin for the past 30 years, where he was employed by the city street department.

The deceased was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving are his widow, Bernice Schmidt Seyller; four sons, Donald, Michael, Kenneth and Lawrence of Elgin; one daughter, Kathryn, of King City, Calif.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Anthony and Elvis of Burlington and Henry of Hampshire; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Emma) Stout and Mrs. Bernard (Odelia) Sester of Burlington and Mrs. Ed (Lena) Volkening of Elgin.

Funeral services were conducted at 9 o'clock from the Wait Ross Allanson funeral chapel and at 9:30 from St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery, Elgin.

Michael Joseph was the son of Michael Joseph and Katherine Ann (Hoffman) Seyller. He married Ruby Bahr and they had three children: Kathryn Ruby, Donald and Michael David. He married Bernice Minnie Schmidt on July 30, 1948 and they had two children: Kenneth Norman and Lawrence Allen.
